MANAGING IMMIGRATION PAPERS

Keep application records connected to the people and work around them.

DATABASE DESIGN PROTOTYPE · 7 TABLES DESCRIBED

This project by Al Sammarraie Nooruldeen outlines a database for a service organization that handles immigration-related cases. It organizes clients, submitted applications, the services requested, supporting documents and appointments handled by staff, with a separate countries reference table.

How the proposed workflow fits together

A client may submit multiple applications. Each application refers to a service and can have related document records. Appointments connect an application with an employee and a scheduled time. The report also defines countries as a lookup table, but does not specify a relationship from that table to another entity.

01 / PEOPLE

Clients

Client identity and contact fields, with a client ID as the primary key.

02 / CASES

Applications

Submission date and status, linked to a client and selected service.

03 / SERVICES

Services

Service name, description and fee for the available offerings.

04 / STAFF

Employees

Staff identity, role and contact details for case handling.

05 / REFERENCE

Countries

Country name and region in a separate reference table.

06 / CASE FILES

Documents

Document type, file path and upload date associated with an application.

07 / SCHEDULING

Appointments

Employee, date, time and location, connected to an application.

What the SQL exercises cover

The written project includes examples of data definition and modification commands, including table creation, constraints, column changes and insert, update, delete and merge operations.

Its query examples retrieve applications by date and status, join clients to paid services, inspect appointment schedules, summarize document types, and filter employee or client records.

From classroom schema to working system

The document demonstrates core relational-database ideas: primary and foreign keys, linked records, constraints and queries across related tables. That makes it a useful design exercise for thinking about an administrative workflow.

The supplied file is a coursework specification and SQL example collection. It does not include a deployed application, a tested database export or a demonstrated end-to-end case-management interface.
