Economic indicators can tell different stories when their definitions, population coverage, or time periods change. This project plan sets out how to check those choices before describing regional economic change.
Compare a small number of indicators across selected economies and years, while keeping their denominators and definitions visible.
Potential measures include GDP per capita, employment status, labour-force participation, and unemployment. Each measure needs a source, unit, and coverage note.
Check missing years and revisions, then show levels and changes. A descriptive comparison alone cannot establish why an indicator moved.
World Development Indicators and ILOSTAT offer annual economic and labour series. The final project would document which indicators were selected and why.
